Morning Walk on Fort Myers Beach, Florida

March 2021 found us at Fort Myers Beach in Florida. We spent a 4 day weekend here to visit Steve’s Mum and her guy, Al celebrating her 92nd birthday a week early! It was so exciting to be seeing family and also to be traveling again. Each morning we did some exploring and then mid afternoon we would go to his mum’s house, have dinner and spend the rest of the day with them.

Fort Myers Beach

Fort Myers Beach is one of our favorites, whether we are walking, bike riding, swimming or just sitting in the sun. Unfortunately, there was a bit of a cold spell so the swimsuits stayed packed and we did a lot of walking. Fort Myers is a soft white sand beach with plenty of seashells! This particular day we were up early in the morning hoping to catch one of the glorious sunrises they have here. The morning was mostly overcast, the sunrise was nice but not like some we have remembered. We still enjoyed our walk because all in all, watching a sunrise is a spectacular way to start the day!

The Pier

The Pier isn’t too far from where we stay and is usually our go to spot. I do love this Pier as it just looks so serene strutting out into the gulf.

Critters Along the Way

We also saw fun critters along the way. We saw starfish, crab, birds and dolphins. The dolphins were a bit shy and not too playful so I did not get a good photo. They popped up once or twice and that was about it. The birds were not at all shy and just walked alongside of us for a bit looking for their breakfast.

Conclusion

We love Fort Myers Beach in Florida. Not just because it is a nice beach, but because we also know we will get to see Steve’s family! Lots of good memories and fun.
