I usually don’t write an entire blog page on a hotel, but I felt Astra Suites in Santorini is exceptional and worth a page! We stayed here in September 2023, 2022, 2021, September 2019 and also in October 2018 and we were wowed each time.
This luxury hotel is the perfect place for your home base in Santorini. Accommodations are outstanding, staff is wonderful and breakfast is fantastic. The concierge is a wealth of information and also did a great job arranging tours, making reservations and lining up transport for us. Very helpful! Location
Astra Suites is located in Imerovigli, Santorini. The village of Imerovigli sits above the caldera of Santorini, between Fira and Oia. You can’t miss the Rock of Skaros directly in front of the hotel which makes for a stunning view and is also fun to hike. This location is perfect for those that don’t want to be in the more well-known towns of Fira and Oia but still want to be along the caldera and experience the famous Santorini sunsets from their hotel.
Our Rooms
From the minute we arrived we knew this award winning hotel was something special. We also felt welcomed from the minute we stepped in the door. Everyone was so nice, therefore we felt right at home. We fell in love with Astra Suites and Santorini with our first visit, and have fallen in love all over again each visit. Astra Suites has several different rooms to fit anyone’s vacation style! In addition, these luxury rooms include breakfast served to your room, turn down service, robes, slippers, daily bottle of water and more!
Premier Junior Suite
In 2018 and 2019 we had the same room! We stayed in the Premier Junior suite just off the pool area. Through every window we had a glorious view of the caldera! The room was comfortable and inviting with plenty of space!
Senior Suite
During our 2021 stay, we stayed in a Senior Suite. The Senior Suite was up higher on the slope and provided for even better views of the caldera. The balcony was larger and also more private in comparison to the terrace outside of the Junior Suite. Our room was spacious and comfortable and felt more romantic. For some reason I did not take many photos of the room, but focused on the views! Totally amazing!
The Infinity Pool
We loved the infinity pool! It was the perfect place to unwind and relax. As a matter of fact, we loved watching the sunset from here and it was total tranquility. The pool bar was also amazing. The bartender makes an amazing cucumber cocktail that is so light and refreshing.
Breakfast
Breakfast at Astra Suites is really something special. The night before you are given an extensive menu which from which you choose your morning meal and an approximate time you would like breakfast to be delivered to your suite. Come morning, you are given a call right before they serve your breakfast. Then within a few minutes, your breakfast arrives at your suite. You can choose to eat indoors or outside on your private patio. The weather was so beautiful and the view perfect, therefore, we ate outside each morning to enjoy the day! The food was so delicious, and I must say, they have the best orange juice I have ever had!
Five Senses Restaurant
Also worth mentioning is how much we enjoyed the Astra Suites Restaurant. It is the most romantic and also most delicious place we dined in Santorini. You can read more about this on my last blog page. Santorini Restaurants-Our Seven Favorites.
Room Service
It was quite chilly one evening during our 2021 stay so we chose to stay in and order room service. Again, we had great service and also great food. As a matter of fact, I am already anticipating having another pizza and appetizers through room service during this years trip!
Conclusion
