Welcome to Ordinary Photos week #23. This week was quite ordinary for February in Iowa with lots of snow! A very gray week! Nonetheless, there was still plenty to be thankful for and the snow was very pretty.
The week started out with a trip to Costco. I found Coca-Cola in the bottle from Mexico. I called this a major win! Many other countries, including Mexico, sweeten the cola with cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup. I prefer the taste of Coke with the sugar and I like the bottle for the nostalgia!
We woke up to snow and a bit of ice on the trees this week. Very pretty!
Then the next morning we woke up with blowing snow. Just North of us at the county line was the cut off for a Blizzard warning, luckily we missed that! Steve’s work was cancelled so he drove me to work and picked me up!! I was very happy about that!
Saturday found more snow falling and some drifting.
I cleaned out the junk drawer and found Pop Rocks!!! Another win for the week! I have no idea how long they’ve been there but the expiration date was 2022 so Steve and I tore into them! Funny though, not nearly as exciting as I remembered as a kid!
Saturday night we treated ourselves to dinner out at an indoor restaurant! Can’t remember when we did that last. I called ahead to check their pandemic protocols and true to what I was told the social distancing was great and mask were worn when not seated. We picked one of our favorite Downtown places, RoCA and it was wonderful!
Finally, we woke up to a beautiful morning. Cold and crisp but no snowing or blowing….yet!
That’s it for this week!! I have had enough snow and can’t wait for spring! Nothing like a coke, Pop Rocks and dinner out to brighten a winter week!!
