Welcome to #15 of Ordinary Photos of an Ordinary Week. This week again had unusual weather. 60 degrees F one day and snow two days later! We are still staying home for the most part except the grocery store, outside walks and Steve going to work, regardless, I am still finding things to be grateful for in the ordinary.

We put together packs for our out of state kids filled with Iowa products and homemade cookies. We won’t be seeing them over Christmas so we sent a bit of Iowa to them.

I never get tired of our sunsets! They seem extraordinary at times.

I saw this silo while driving along the road. I thought it was a fun way to dress up an ordinary silo!

Such a lonely beach! I met my daughter outdoors at a lake near her place to drop off some things for her. Wouldn’t it be awesome to have a beach full of people with hot weather?

Briggs Lake Park. A bit chilly but the sun was shining!

Woke up Saturday morning to ice on the windows and snow!

Even my artificial tree on my porch received some snow!

I have a small evergreen in a planter by the house. I decorated it for Christmas and the snow added the finishing touches.

I am all smiles out shoveling snow! I don’t care for snow or shoveling but I was so grateful to be out doing something different! I wasn’t the only one, most people up and down the neighborhood were joyfully out in the snow!

Steve was having fun in the snow too!! He uses the snowblower and I follow with the shovel to get what is left!
That is it for Ordinary Photos Week #15! It was awesome to get out and about a bit even it it meant shoveling snow and hanging out at a chilly lake! One thing about 2020 I won’t forget is how much I appreciate the ordinary things in life! Take care and stay safe !!

Far from ordinary Lori. Love the Christmas decs, the ice on windows and especially the corn cob silo. Ordinary will do as long as we slow down enough to enjoy the simple things. Stay well and have a safe week. Allan
Thank you for reading, Allan! Enjoying the simple things is key!! Especially now!! Lori
It feels like the week has zoomed by; I still feel as if your last “Ordinary Photos” post was just two days ago! Looks like you’re having a cozy holiday season, and that massive corn structure is something to be amused by. Stay warm, and stay safe!
It was a quick week! Thanks for reading and enjoy the season! Lori
The Iowa basket is so cute!
Thanks. We tried to come up with something unique!
grateful for the ordinary – what a great expression!
I’m learning that ordinary is pretty good!
2020 will do that to you!
Nice photos. Thanks.
Thanks for reading!
Nothing says home like Mom’s homemade cookies. The Des Moines area offers a bit more of some eclectic. And I must admit, western Iowa was spared any noticeable snow this time and so I am not complaining. I am certain there will be the chance for exercise in the coming couple of months. jerry
I am still getting used to living in the Des Moines metro. I’ve lived in small
Iowa towns all of my life. I will say though, I do like some of the options here that are offered! I like to support small business and there seems to be a lot of them here! Take care!! Lori
Oh, that silo! It absolutely gave me the smile I needed this morning!
I am glad! Smiles are so needed lately!!!
Beautiful photo!!
Thank you!
